About BrainVive from Founder, Jess Toews
At BrainVive, we use the BrainVive Neuro Rehab Protocol, which is a non-invasive, passive therapeutic program that trains 4 primary sensory systems – visual, auditory, vestibular and olfactory – to work together and ignite new neuro pathways, improving anxiety, emotional regulation, social interaction, learning ability and development.
Until recent years, researchers were convinced the brain was static and that when neurons, or brain cells, were lost or damaged, they were gone for good or that progress couldn’t be made when developmental gaps were present. Today, we know that the brain is more resilient and able to change than we could have imagined!
You just need the right tools. By using light, sound and motion together, we can affect change in the brain and nervous system. This stimulation causes the brain to develop new neural pathways–improving sensory perception at the brainstem level, which impacts mental, physical, emotional and cognitive abilities.
The sensory system is crucial to overall performance, impacting learning ability, development, coordination, behavior, anxiety levels, impulse, mood, and attention. But injury, illnesses, varying degrees of trauma and developmental gaps can all affect how your sensory system responds to your environment and often keeps the sympathetic nervous system activated. Thankfully, neuroplasticity means the brain and our nervous system have the ability to change and create new neural pathways throughout life.
Using a technique that stimulates and mimics healthy development, the program challenges these three dominant areas to adapt to multi-sensory input–creating change. This technique strengthens integration, existing connections and creates new ones! The results are individualized to each person’s unique nervous system. However, it is common to see reduced anxiety levels, greater coping skills, reduction in stimming, better sleep, shifts in learning and development and recovery from post concussion syndrome.
Multi-sensory training at brainvive is a non-invasive, drug-free therapy that trains 3 primary sensory systems–visual, auditory, and vestibular–to work together in balance and ignite neuro pathways to improve functionality, processing, behavior, learning and performance. Our multi-sensory training is a 30-day intervention that is broken into 12 consecutive days in-office and 18-days of simple, home-based light therapy.
This auditory, vestibular and visual training helps nourish the nervous system by removing triggers and promoting efficiency in the visual and auditory system—resulting in less “fight or flight” response for those working to regulate behavior and increase healing capacity. This stimulation and the new neural pathways created, allow for an individual to perceive the world around them in a different way. It unlocks the potential for an individual and helps build the foundation and integration for new and continued development.
